Yes. A default, read-leaning connection usually stops at looking up transactions and status.
Can Claude create or adjust budgets in Brex?
Claude can create a budget or adjust an existing one and update its spend limit through scoped write tools. It reads current budgets and transactions for context, then drafts the change for your review. The connector never has more access than your own Brex role and permissions.
Can Claude manage vendors and initiate transfers in Brex?
Claude can add or update a vendor record and prepare a transfer to a managed vendor, but anything that moves money is a separate, gated action. The transfer is initiated only after you approve it, so nothing leaves your account by surprise. It reads current vendors and balances for context first.

We build a small MCP server that authenticates to Brex with OAuth or a scoped API token using the narrowest scopes the work needs.
