Full read-write Claude connector for Snyk
Let Claude triage findings and manage ignores in Snyk
Stop clicking through the Snyk dashboard to triage and remediate. Claude reads issues by severity, sets ignores with a reason and expiry, imports new repositories, and surfaces available fixes only once you approve, right where your findings already live.
Snyk is a developer security platform that finds and helps fix vulnerabilities in code, open-source dependencies, containers, and infrastructure as code. Teams want Claude to do more than read findings: to triage issues, surface available fixes, and manage ignores where the work already lives.
What is a Snyk MCP server?
A Snyk MCP server is a small hosted service that exposes Snyk's data and actions to Claude over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude can issues, code, and incidents inside your own account. We build it as a custom connector with separate read and write tools, and destructive actions stay gated behind your approval.
What can Snyk's current connector do today?
Today, Snyk's connection to Claude is mostly read-leaning. Claude can typically pull projects, issues, and severities through the API, but triaging at scale, managing ignores, and importing projects tend to be limited or manual. A custom Snyk connector adds those API-backed write actions with scoped, human-in-the-loop controls.
What does full read-write Snyk access unlock?
Full read-write Snyk access lets Claude triage issues across projects, set or remove ignores with a reason, import new repositories into an organization, and configure a project's automated test frequency. The security review work that used to mean clicking through the dashboard happens where your findings already live.
- Triage open issues by severity and assign or prioritize them across projects
- Set or remove an ignore on a finding, with a reason and expiry you specify
- Surface available fixes and remediation advice for a vulnerable dependency
- Configure a project's automated test frequency through project settings
- Import a new repository or project into a Snyk organization
- Pull a vulnerability summary for a project and propose a remediation order
Can Claude triage open issues by severity in Snyk?
Triaging open issues by severity is exactly what a full read-write Snyk connector enables. Claude pulls projects and issues through the API, prioritizes or assigns them across organizations you allow, and proposes a remediation order. It works within the same scope as your token, never reaching projects that token cannot already see.
Can Claude open a fix pull request for a vulnerable dependency in Snyk?
Fix pull requests are not opened through the Snyk API. Snyk creates them automatically when a project is tested, or you open one in the web UI. The connector surfaces available fixes and remediation for a vulnerable dependency, scoped to the projects you permit, then hands you the fix PR to open in Snyk.
Can Claude ignore a vulnerability in Snyk without my approval?
Ignoring a vulnerability is a separate, gated action that records the reason and expiry you specify, applied only after you confirm it. Claude can prepare the ignore, import a repository, or configure a project's test frequency, but anything that changes security state waits for a human, so nothing shifts by surprise.
How a Snyk connector works
We build a small MCP server that authenticates to Snyk with a scoped API token or OAuth, limited to the organizations and projects the work needs. Read tools (list projects, list issues) and write tools (ignore, import, configure test frequency) are separated, and actions that change security state require your confirmation. Claude never has more access than the Snyk account it runs as, and we can add IP allowlisting where your setup supports it.
