Full read-write Claude connector for Lattice

Let Claude draft review feedback and update goals in Lattice

Stop tabbing back into Lattice to write feedback and log goal progress by hand. Claude drafts review feedback against the right cycle, submits it once approved, and updates goal and OKR check-ins where your people data already lives, saving only once you approve.

Lattice is a people-management platform that runs performance reviews, goals and OKRs, and continuous feedback. Teams want Claude to do more than read what is in Lattice: to draft and submit review feedback, update goals and OKRs, and pull the people context behind each decision inside the platform.

What is a Lattice MCP server?

A Lattice MCP server is a small hosted service that exposes Lattice's data and actions to Claude over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude can people, time, and pay inside your own account. We build it as a custom connector with separate read and write tools, and destructive actions stay gated behind your approval.

What can Lattice's current connector do today?

Today, Lattice ships a first-party MCP server at api.latticehq.com/mcp that connects to Claude and can read and act on Lattice data, including drafting and submitting reviews and updates. It is admin-provisioned and scopes each user to their own permissions. A custom Lattice connector is for teams who need explicit per-action approval gating, tighter scoping, IP allowlisting, or coverage the first-party server does not provide, with human-in-the-loop approval before anything is saved.

What does full read-write Lattice access unlock?

Full read-write Lattice access lets Claude draft review feedback against the right competencies, submit a completed review for the active cycle, and update goal and OKR progress, all once you approve. It also reads continuous feedback and review cycles for context. The writing that meant tabbing back into Lattice happens where the people data already lives.

  • Draft performance review feedback for a direct report against the active review cycle
  • Submit a completed review for the active cycle once you approve the wording
  • Update progress, status, or check-in notes on a goal or OKR
  • Summarize the continuous feedback already logged for a specific person
  • Look up a review cycle, its questions, and the competencies tied to a role

Can Claude draft performance review feedback in Lattice?

Yes. With a full read-write Lattice connector, Claude drafts performance review feedback for a direct report against the active review cycle and the right competencies. The draft is held for your approval before it is saved, so you review the wording before any feedback others can see goes in.

Can Claude update goals and OKRs in Lattice?

Claude can update progress, status, or check-in notes on a goal or OKR, and read the prior check-ins for context. Updating a goal is a gated write action, so Claude prepares the change and it is saved only after you confirm it.

Can Claude pull continuous feedback for someone in Lattice?

Yes. Claude reads the continuous feedback already logged for a specific person and summarizes the themes, so you walk into a review or check-in with context. This is a read-only lookup, and Claude never has more access than your account already grants in Lattice.

How a Lattice connector works

We build a small MCP server that connects to Lattice through OAuth or a scoped API credential, using the narrowest access the work needs. Read tools (look up people, goals, review cycles, logged feedback) and write tools (draft and submit review feedback, update goals) are kept separate, and saving anything visible to others requires your confirmation. Claude never has more access than the account it authenticates as, and we can add IP allowlisting where your setup supports it.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude write review feedback into Lattice, not just read it?
Yes, with a custom connector. We expose a write tool that drafts feedback against the correct review cycle and competencies, then holds it for your approval before it is saved. Lattice's own first-party MCP server can also draft into Lattice, so a custom connector is for when you need explicit per-action approval gates, tighter scoping, IP allowlisting, or coverage outside the official server.
Will Claude update goals or submit a review without my approval?
No. Updating a goal and submitting a completed review are gated write actions. Claude can prepare each one, but it is only saved after you approve it. You decide which actions run automatically and which always require a confirmation step, and read-only lookups stay separate from writes.
Does the Lattice connector get more access than I have?
No. The connector authenticates with your own credential or OAuth grant and inherits exactly the permissions you already have in Lattice. It cannot see or change people, reviews, or goals that your account cannot, and it does not bypass your organization's role-based access. We scope it to the minimum the task requires.
