Full read-write Claude connector for Drip

Let Claude tag subscribers, edit segments, and trigger workflows in Drip

Stop clicking through list hygiene by hand. Claude applies tags, updates custom fields, moves people between segments, and triggers workflows where your audience already lives, with broadcasts and unsubscribes gated behind your approval.

Drip is an ecommerce marketing automation platform for email and SMS, built around subscribers, tags, and workflows. Teams want Claude to do more than read campaign stats: to tag and segment subscribers, enroll people in workflows and campaigns, and draft broadcasts on their behalf.

What is a Drip MCP server?

A Drip MCP server is a small hosted service that exposes Drip's data and actions to Claude over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude can campaigns, lists, and audiences inside your own account. We build it as a custom connector with separate read and write tools, and destructive actions stay gated behind your approval.

What can Drip's current connector do today?

Today, Drip has no first-party Claude or MCP connector, so any access goes through its REST API and you generally read campaign, subscriber, and event data rather than change it. A custom Drip connector adds scoped write actions like tagging, subscriber updates, and workflow triggers, with confirmation gating on anything outbound.

What does full read-write Drip access unlock?

Full read-write Drip access lets Claude apply and remove tags, update subscriber custom fields, move people between segments, subscribe or unsubscribe addresses, enroll subscribers in campaigns, activate or pause whole workflows, and draft a broadcast in Drip for you to send from the UI. The list hygiene and segmentation that used to mean manual clicks happen where your audience already lives.

  • Apply or remove tags on subscribers to refine a segment
  • Update subscriber email, status, or custom fields in bulk
  • Start or remove a subscriber from a workflow, or pause or activate an entire workflow
  • Subscribe or unsubscribe an address after you confirm
  • Enroll subscribers in an email-series campaign after you approve
  • Draft a broadcast in Drip for you to schedule and send from the UI
  • Record a custom event to start an automation

Can Claude tag and segment subscribers in Drip?

Yes. Claude can tag and segment subscribers in Drip by applying or removing tags, updating custom fields, and changing subscriber status through Drip's API. It refines a segment on your behalf under scoped permissions, so the list hygiene that used to mean manual clicks happens automatically while you stay in control.

Can Claude move people through workflows in Drip?

Yes. Claude can start or remove a subscriber from a workflow, activate or pause an entire workflow, and record a custom event to start an automation. These write actions run through your scoped API token, so Claude only manages the journeys your own account already has permission to touch.

Will Claude send a broadcast in Drip without my approval?

No. Drip's API does not send or schedule broadcasts, so Claude only drafts a broadcast in Drip and you schedule and send it from the UI. Enrolling subscribers in a campaign is a separate, gated action that runs only after you confirm, so nothing reaches your list unreviewed.

How a Drip connector works

We build a small MCP server that authenticates to Drip with a scoped API token or OAuth, using the narrowest account permissions the work needs. Read tools (subscribers, campaigns, events) and write tools (tag, update, enroll, draft) are separated, and outbound or destructive actions like enrolling a campaign or unsubscribing require your confirmation. Broadcasts are drafted in Drip and the actual send is completed in the Drip UI, since Drip's API does not expose broadcast scheduling or sending. Claude only ever has the access your own Drip account already has, and we can add IP allowlisting where your setup supports it.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude tag and update subscribers in Drip, not just read them?
Yes. A custom Drip connector exposes write tools for applying or removing tags, updating custom fields, and changing subscriber status, all through Drip's API under scoped permissions. Because there is no first-party connector today, this read-and-write behavior is exactly what a purpose-built connector is for.
Will Claude send a broadcast or campaign without my approval?
No. Drip's API does not send or schedule broadcasts, so Claude only drafts a broadcast in Drip and you schedule and send it from the UI. Campaign enrollment is a separate, gated write action that runs only after you approve, so nothing reaches your list unreviewed.
Does the Drip connector get more access than my own account?
No. The connector authenticates with your scoped API token or OAuth and inherits the permissions your Drip account already has. It never grants Claude broader access than you have, and you can revoke the token at any time to cut off access immediately.
