Custom Connectors

Claude integrations, explained

Claude integrates with software two ways: built-in connectors from Anthropic's directory, which cover a set of mainstream tools, and custom MCP servers, which integrate Claude with anything that has an API. As of June 2026, 77 percent of the 264 business tools we reviewed have no connector at all, so most real stacks need the custom path.

What Claude integrations exist today?

The official list lives in Anthropic's connector directory, which is the right first stop: if your tool is there and the connector does what you need, enable it and you are done. The gap is everything else: niche SaaS, vertical platforms, and in-house systems, where a custom MCP server is the integration.

Frequently asked questions

Does Claude integrate with my software?
Probably not out of the box. Anthropic's connector directory covers a set of mainstream tools, but in our June 2026 review of 264 business tools, 77 percent had no Claude connector at all. Any software with an API can still integrate with Claude through a custom MCP server built for it.
What is the difference between a Claude integration and a connector?
They are the same thing described from two sides. A Claude integration is the outcome: Claude reading and acting inside your software. A connector, technically an MCP server, is the piece that makes it work by exposing your tool's data and actions to Claude over the Model Context Protocol.
Are Claude integrations free?
Built-in connectors from the directory are free to enable on plans that support them. A custom integration for a tool with no connector, or a deeper one than the directory offers, is something you build or buy: ours start at $5,000 to build, then from $500 per month hosted and maintained.
